BEST Corp.

Always great to work for a company with a compelling mission. BEST Corp. provides education and skills training to hotel workers in the Boston area. I spent a few hours last week in their Chinatown office shooting an event. Check out their website: www.hoteltrainingcenter.org.

Rapper Dancing

I've begun a new multimedia project on this group of teenage rapper dancers. This is not a form of hip-hop, but rather an old English folk sword dance that involves fast paced intertwined movements among the 5 dancers holding swords (long, flexible pieces of metal) and lots of rhythmic foot shuffling. It's a fascinating, exhilirating dance to watch.

Cross-Country Finale

The very last meet of four years of highschool cross-country running. The rain didn't stop, the mud was unbelievable, and the girls (and boys) from high schools across the state showed unwavering determination.

Halloween fundraiser

I took these photos on halloween night. I set up a studio in my house and had mini-portrait sessions with trick or treaters. It was a small fundraiser for a local cause. The kids were obviously ubercute and I had a blast.

Voices from the Mountain

These are photos from Revels Repertory Company's new show called "Voices from the Mountain." Revels Rep is a Boston-based repertory company that tours in the New England area. I shot these a few weeks ago when the group performed at Tufts University's Cohen Auditorium.

Niramaya Health Foundation

I've recently scanned film I shot while living in Mumbai, India several years ago. While there I volunteered with a nonprofit called Niramaya Health Foundation, a group providing badly needed nutritional supports for preschool children living in Mumbai's slums, as well as a number of community health programs for areas in and around Mumbai. Currently about 43 percent of Indian children are underweight. See recent Sunday NYTimes article on India's malnutrition problem. Niramaya website: www.niramaya.org.
